I am preparing to compete in the 2009 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii on October 10, 2009 I won one of the lottery slots offered each year to give 150 regular folks with more luck than sense a once in a lifetime chance to compete with the world triathlon elite. I will swim 2.4 miles in the ocean, ride 112 miles and then complete a full 26.2 mile marathon. I am using this opportunity to raise money for research to find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
tim, we are all rooting for you and so proud of you! love, trish, john and baby liam
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration to your patients and to us all. It's been great to follow your training, and now here you are on the big day. Congratulations on making it to Kona!
Tim, I see you have just completed the race - and finished STRONG (your last mile of the marathon was your fastest!!). It was so exciting for all of us family who caught a glimpse of you today cycling past us on the course when it passed the Hilton. I am so proud of this tremendous accomplishment and you've set such a wonderful example for Forrest - what the human spirit is capable of if you are determined and hard-working enough. You reminded me a lot of our own dad today and in the last several months. Love, Trish
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Tim! I was following your progress on the ironman site - you did it! I can't even imagine doing something like that! Awesome!
